Jordan Vauvert Violet Cold se consacre très rarement à la pratique du split mais il faut dire que travailler avec lui se mérite ; certains diront qu'il exagère, pour ma part j'aimerais que d'autres artistes soient aussi intransigeants.
Ça explique peut-être la vraie synergie entre lui et Sorrow Plagues. Les deux jouent un blackgaze poignant : "Hiraeth" est d'un côté une source de lumière tandis que "Pour l'éternité" transmet un sentiment de dévastation inimaginable ; le chant d'Emin Guliyev est un crève-cœur. Favorite track: Violet Cold - Pour L'éternité.

Mark-Oliver there is no favorite track on this split! this is just awesome from the beginning, both deliver finest abm you could drown in - but yeah, corpse paint die hards will turn their heads... Favorite track: Sorrow Plagues - Hiraeth.

Dans The Density Parameter, Mesarthim reprend tous les ingrédients qui font leur marque de fabrique : des pistes assez longues au rythme énergique (très palpable sur "Recombination" par exemple) et jouant sur des structures cycliques, un chant qui erre parmi les étoiles... Les ambiances sont prolifiques mais elles changent la donne : gracieuses, certes, mais surtout plus mélancoliques qu'autrefois. The Density Parameter est un peu la dernière bouffée d'oxygène que donne la combinaison spatiale. Jordan Vauvert

Un E.P. qui pourra largement diviser les fans, notamment ceux fermés d'esprit et qui refusent que Mesarthim puisse faire autre chose que du black metal atmosphérique. Presence est en effet l'œuvre dans laquelle le groupe profite le plus de la musique electro, notamment le new age (surtout sur "Eschaton Part I") voire même le synth pop sur le morceau éponyme ; black metal certes, mais une hybridation très prononcée. Si vous accrochez (comme moi), vous passerez clairement un bon moment ! Jordan Vauvert
